Tattoo Teasers

Tattoo Teasers

by Amelia G : June 21st, 2009

tattoo teasers bella vendetta forrest black amelia gNew issue of Tattoo Teasers is on newsstands now. This issue features two super long layouts from BlueBlood.com shot by yours truly and Forrest Black. The set we shot of Bella Vendetta which graces both the masthead page and a seven page layout was at the home music studio of good friends of Bella Vendetta’s. The current issue of Tattoo Teasers also includes a second huge seven page layout Forrest Black and I shot of Rachel Face at the most excellent bar Plan B in Portland.

This edition of Tattoo Teasers includes an interview with my fellow Wesleyan University alum Tristan Taormino. Long time Blue Blood readers will probably recall that we published Tristan Taormino’s erotic fiction and wrote up her delightful tome The Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex for Women. Although she and I have sometimes, alas, had missed connections, Tristan Taormino will always have a soft spot on my heart for getting me my first book deal when she worked at Masquerade Books which published my Backstage Passes: Rock and Roll Erotica from the Pages of Blue Blood Magazine anthology.

The cover of this issue of Tattoo Teasers, along with a five page feature inside, features pornstar Joanna Angel from web site Burning Angel, which I mentioned here before in my AltPorn Rankings article . Joanna Angel also . . .

Amelia G Writing in SexCrime Anthology of Subversive Erotica on Kindle

SexCrime Anthology of Subversive Erotica on Kindle

by Amelia G : June 24th, 2009

sexcrime subversive eroticaI’ve been trying (fairly unsuccessfully) to recall all of my science fiction writing credits. As a result, I’ve been ego-searching various strings like +”amelia g” +”science fiction” and +”amelia g” +”author” and so forth.

I was surprised to note the book SexCrime: an anthology of underground love and subversive erotica, edited by Cecilia Tan, had come out in a Kindle edition. I wish people would tell me these things. I’m not that hard to find. But it is still fun to find new credits, even if via search engine.

The book collects an assortment of stories on the topic of dystopian cyberpunk sorts of futures and gets its name from George Orwell’s 1984. I believe the story I have in this collection is one called “Rocket Queen”, which you will have already read if you have a vintage copy of Blue Blood magazine #3 in print with the Genitorturers on the cover. “Rocket Queen” also remains the only science fiction tale to ever be published in Thomas S. Roche’s celebrated noir crime Noirotica . . .

Cyberpunk Fetish Honeymoon Hotel (Bruce Willis Naked)

Cyberpunk Fetish Honeymoon Hotel

by Amelia G : June 23rd, 2009

Steven Klein is a photographer best known for his collaborations with Madonna, so it is probably no shock that some people might find his work shocking. I just think it is really beautiful. Bruce Willis and his new bride Emma Heming are featured on the cover of the current issue of W. W is one of those magazines that doesn’t really pay but encourages creativity.

So Steven Klein and stylist Camilla Nickerson were free to really go to town on this Honeymoon Hotel photo shoot. The feel is cyberpunk fetish and the apparent chemistry between Bruce Willis and Emma Willis is really nice to see. There’s the Videodrome style television love, the domination, the leather, the bondage, the nudity, the spikes, and the giant boots. There is even a hint of cyberpunk corporate chic spy intrigue, evil clowns, and medical fetish. The gear is mostly by Alexander McQueen, Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabbana,Giorgio Armani, Max Azria, Dior, Nicole Miller, Michael Kors, and Givenchy, although, except for Alexander McQueen the big kinky boots are somewhat uncredited. Of those designers, I find Michael Kors is the best for me personally for kinda regular wear. I would definitely wear Alexander McQueen couture if it were free (and probably made in bigger sizes too), but it is easy on the eyes anyway. I wore Dolce & Gabbana when Forrest Black and I were presenters at the Firecracker Alternative Book Awards and presented an award to Steve Diet Goedde. Which I think is why fellow honoree Michael Madsen . . .

Blue Blood Adam Lambert Pics in Rolling Stone & Star

Adam Lambert in Rolling Stone and Star Magazine

by Amelia G : June 20th, 2009

rolling stone adam lambert american idolPeople keep asking me why I haven’t mentioned that Forrest Black and I have some of our photography of American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert in the current issues of Star Magazine and Rolling Stone, so I suppose I’ll mention it now. The internet has been abuzz for weeks now that Adam Lambert was going to “come out” in Rolling Stone issue 1081. So many publications were reporting that Rolling Stone was going to report that Adam Lambert says he is gay that Rolling Stone had to rush to put the digital image of the cover, lensed by brilliant top photographer Matthew Rolston, online well before the issue hit newsstands. Which seems very meta-something.

For some reason, a number of folks desperately wanted to be the primary source for settling speculation on Adam Lambert’s sexual orientation. Forrest Black and I photographed Adam Lambert kissing Brad “Cheeks” Bell. In point of fact, all of the supposedly scandalous images of Adam Lambert kissing a male were of him kissing the same guy, Brad “Cheeks” Bell. However, as many fans seems to find boy/boy smooching inconclusive and seemed to perhaps care about orientation, I didn’t want any part of anything which might hurt Adam Lambert’s chances of winning American Idol. I heart Alex Burton, my editor at Star Magazine, because the deal he and I made for the first round of images he . . .

What the duck?

What the duck?

by Amelia G : June 19th, 2009

what the duck jack daniels photographyWhat the Duck is the best comic strip anyone has ever done about photography. Now Blue Blood readers, unless they are viewing the site with some sort of high tech braille conversion computer, are familiar with my more professional lit studio and location photography of rock stars, freaks, and naked people.

I also sometimes like to do, uhm, personal work, where I take my snapshot camera out on the town with me (and sometimes rock stars, freaks, and naked people.) In order to achieve my distinctive brand of party time nightlife photography, I do not look through the viewfinder and I keep the display turned off. I do my best work of this type when alcohol is involved.

I’m not much of a drinker, but I can tear it up from time to time on special occasions. Prior to the age of digital photography, I thought I had never blacked out from drinking. I mean, there was never a dead hooker in my bed in the morning and, in the absence of dead hookers, it is difficult to remember not remembering. Since the advent of digital photography, I’ve been made aware that sometimes less booze equals more memories. For example, I was giving my buddy Gonzo grief for not having introduced me to famous, err, computer wiz Kevin Mitnick when we were all partying in Vegas. Unfortunately, Gonzo was able to produce . . .

True Blood Season 2 – Can Vampires Grow or Dye Hair?

True Blood Season 2 – Can Vampires Grow or Dye Hair?

by Amelia G : June 18th, 2009

true blood season 2 teasersAs you all probably know, the HBO series True Blood, based on the Charlaine Harris novels, was one of my favorite new shows this past year, maybe my very favorite. The new season is kicking off with fun altmodel cam boy and local vampire blood dealer Lafayette Reynolds possibly in trouble and more murderous whodunit and more surprisingly well done and extended sex scenes. I’m not sure the first True Blood Season 2 teaser pics and True Blood Season 2 promo photos really do the show justice.

I am sure that a bunch of the product placement tie-in billboards and suchlike around Los Angeles are a bit cringe-inducing. There are billboards for motorcycles, cars, automotive insurance, and and Gillette razorblades and other not terribly vampy products. (I don’t necessarily want to give tons of bonus exposure to silly things advertised this way, but I have to give Gillette a shout-out because years ago I worked the product launch for the Gillette Sensor and it was the most awesome and creative technical theatre gig I ever saw.) Pale-skinned dark-haired vampy femme fatale Dita Von Teese says, “I don’t understand this vampire bandwagon. Just saw a billboard advertising razors that “vampires prefer”. Vampires don’t have to shave!” I could get into a dissertation about the necessary equilibrium between enjoying the success of what you love verus avoiding having what you love co-opted. But really . . .
