I always like working with people who do more than one thing. I will pick multifaceted hotness over just-ad-model every day of the week. Athena Hollow, among other things, does affiliate site promo.

The SpookyCash affiliate program pays people like Athena Hollow for sending members to Gothic Sluts, Erotic Fandom, Barely Evil, Erotic BPM, the Blue Blood VIP and other sites published by Blue Blood and friends of Blue Blood. This is a great system for people who have webzines with a lot of visitors or popular Twitter profiles and such. A lot of membership sites beg for links or even demand them, but SpookyCash shares the wealth whenever your links result in members signing up. (I’ll be happy to assist any BlueBlood.net reader who is unfamiliar with affiliate promo, but has a high traffic site or profile.)

Call for Writers – Adult Bloggers $

I am looking for a few additional writers who can do timely quality blog entries on adult topics.

Your application should include a list of three of your favorite girls who model for what could be considered goth, altporn, or fetish, online or in print, and 100 words or less on what it is you like about them. This is a writing test and not a flattery test, so it is more important that you write something interesting, entertaining, or otherwise engaging about your favorite girls than that they be girls who appear on BlueBlood.com.

Knowledge of Photoshop, WordPress, or other blogging systems a plus. Doesn’t pay a lot, but there is regular work for consistent bloggers and a higher post $ rate for writers proficient in Photoshop and WordPress. Please specify your experience level.

Mortis Mortavius Shoots DragonCon 2011

I was very active in East Coast fandom from the time I was very underage (but old enough to get into mischief), until I moved to California. It was a lot of fun. I tended to spell shirt L-I-N-G-E-R-I-E and regularly get in trouble with con security over my (lack of) attire and non-peacebonded weapons. This also meant I got photographed a lot. So I’ve seen a fair amount of convention photography, even if that meant more viewing portfolios on the front end, more than ever actually getting to see the pictures of me at cons. (Except for Kim from Virginia who rules.) Once I started selling a lot of fiction and publishing first BLT and then Blue Blood, I got hassled less, but it was still super fun. I sort of thought that they allowed for more bad behavior when I was a guest or exhibitor, except that my friend author Shariann Lewitt always got grief for her leather-jacketed ways.</p>

West Coast fandom is just different. Please, nobody start yapping about Comic Con right . . .

Miss Crash and Marilyn Manson

Miss Crash stars in “Born Villain”, the new music video for Marilyn Manson. Oddly enough, the short film is directed by Shia LaBeouf. Or maybe not so oddly.

I want to think this is the awesome-est music video because Crash is in it. The hook suspensions, gun violence, bleeding eye socket, boobs, and vagina mean this will most likely never see MTV rotation. But, as a piece, it kind of comes across like someone who doesn’t get it, working with great materials. I haven’t listened to the album yet, so maybe Marilyn Manson littered the title track with random Shakespeare quote, like a college freshman. Maybe themes from Macbeth really resonate with either Marilyn Manson or Shia LaBeouf. But having that sort of stuff in there just feels a bit forced and pretentious. The flipping back and forth between spoken word and music sort of takes the viewer out of it. There are a number of individual shots in this, which feel like they would make cool images, even though they don’t quite compel as a video narrative. I hear that there is a companion photo book . . .

Silent Computer

How did my computer come back from the computer hospital with a new C: drive and new operating system and no ability to put sound through my headphones?

I am really having a death-by-1,000-papercuts week. Except for hiking and cooking and, to a (much) lesser extent, writing; those three things are awesome, very good, and okay, respectively. Feels like everything else is in a state of uncomfortable chaos with a barrage of minor annoyances. Well, no educational video tutorials for me tonight.
