Models
By the way, if you are a model on a Blue Blood membership site, your comp password will most likely have expired in the past week. We are going over to a new system and you will be receiving an email about how it works soon. Getting a last couple of details working with the new servers on BlueBlood.net and getting Szandora.com launched were our top priorities this weekend and, like everything, were a bit more work than we might have predicted. Next on my to-do list is to gather up all of the model emails for models on the membership sites. If you appear on a Blue Blood membership site and your email address has changed since last we corresponded, please post it in this thread and I will leave it screened.
Actually, the immediate next thing on my to-do list is breakfast. I hear that health and weight loss (damn this torn tendon) and sustainable energy are all better if you eat breakfast. But I am just not that big a fan of eating early in the day. Blargh.
I am soooooooooo tuckered out, but it rules to be me
I am soooooooooo tuckered out, but it rules to be me. Really Forrest is the one who has been working around the clock on Szandora.com and I’ve just been getting more random work done and crawling out of my skin with excitement about the launch. But, trust me, waiting was very out-tuckering.
Here is a shot from a recent shoot Forrest and I did with Szandora which I wanted to share:
People are starting to discuss the launch on the Blue Blood boards. Whoo-hoo! I think I’m going to take a bath now and then hit TiVo for that new Father of the Pride cartoon. I hadn’t heard anything about it, but a friend recommended it and it sounds like my sort of thang.

I’m back from Vegas! Szandora rocks!
Szandora did a show with Thee Swank Bastards at The House of Brews and they’ll be there again on the 11th and the 18th. Forrest and I came and hung out. We got to meet charming Jay Goldstein who is shooting a bunch of Szandora’s performances and such for Szandora.com and who has the coolest cell phone ever. We checked out the cam setup stuff, so we’ll all be able to stalk Szandora online soon. Then Forrest and I checked out a trade show for next year’s fashion trends. We only went to the part which is supposed to showcase “Edge” clothing. Actually found some cool new stuff, even though this section seems to get smaller every show. Szandora and I alsmot got busted for taking nudie photos in a hotel hallway, but Szandora heard the security keys jingling in time to stand up and pick up off the floor the underwear the cool folks from Beauty Fiend gave us to shoot. Hee hee. We are bad girls. We did lots of real properly lit shots of Szandora’s purple hair too and she already has a killer plan for her next hair masterpiece. Miss you already, girl, but we had a great time!
Just catching up on email and the Blue Blood boards now. Looks like everyone remained cool in my absence. Whoo-hoo!

Rock Photography
Just came across a site where people were talking about how some of Forrest’s and my photos of Gen from the Genitorturers on BlueBlood.net at http://www.blueblood.net/bb_97.html were some of the best they had ever seen done of her. We originally were shooting them partly for magazine cover, only a certain company with the initials HT was cranky about it and didn’t want to credit who the cover hottie was on the cover. It didn’t help that the magazine’s designer photoshopped Jesus suffering on a cross in the background of our photo. It also didn’t help that the publisher sent the cover to said christian company for approval at Eastertime.
Over the years, I’ve shot members of bigger bands (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Korn, Manson, etc.) but Blue Blood was the first US magazine to put The Genitorturers on the cover. And we had seen them a lot over the years and I liked them as people and I liked their band and I liked their shows. So I felt invested in that relationship and that shoot. Not that Gen was horrible or anything, but I really went to bat for her and it ended up being a real problem that I insisted she be properly credited with our photo. She was pretty upset at the time and I promised her that her photo would not appear without her name and her band’s name. Most photographers would have just let the magazine do whatever it wanted and later said they had no control over what the magazine did, no matter what they promised. My word means something though. The photos from that shoot have only appeared where we could credit her, so I kept my word, but it took a lot out of me. If someone went to bat for me like that, I would probably send them a fruit basket or a rare Blue Blood back issue or something.
The whole thing was kind of a nail in the coffin of doing rock photography for me. I was initially thinking of doing another one of the Blue Blood girls for the cover of this particular publication, but, when I saw Gen was coming through LA, I thought it would be fun to shoot her again and get her on the cover instead. Forrest and I had already shot Szandora, Yolanda, Batty, and Fetus de Milo for the cover of this mag. Yes, they photoshopped out Yolanda and Fetus’ facial piercings to please HT, but shooting those covers was a lot more fun.
Seeing people I don’t know on the net getting excited about the shots Forrest and I did of Gen made me think about some of what I like creatively about rock photography. Mostly we enjoy shooting people with intense personalities and the rock world has a lot of those.
I’m feeling pretty positive these days. I like that I have cut down on some things to reduce drama, but I don’t want to throw the baby out with the bathwater, just because there are people who would like to make cool things a pain.
Should I go back to doing more rock photography?

Should I go back to doing more rock photography?
Wow, small world
Someone on the Blue Blood boards just private messaged me a link to a photographer’s site so I could check out a very young (very hot) pic of someone else who posts there. The photographer whose site it is was very accomplished and shot for tons of rock mags in the heyday of the Sunset Strip. So I click around and, fuck a duck, I see that she shot a calendar of the hottest guys in the rock scene in Los Angeles, according to a panel of scene chicks.
One of the months was totally the first guy I picked up in Los Angeles. I failed to get naked with him when we hung out because his friends turned me off and then I left his info in a friend’s car and the friend’s car got impounded and I never did talk to him again. He got me to eat Fatburger with stuff on it, even though I normally eat my cheeseburgers plain and he wore an inscribed bracelet from a girl he loved back home. His hair was whiter when I met him than in the photo and I thought he was the hottest guy I met in LA. I would have thought of a cure for cancer, but I remembered these details about a guy I saw twice instead. How bizarre.
Relaunching BlueBlood.net has really pulled a lot of blasts from the past out for me. Both people I’ve gotten back in touch with and past lives I’ve been reminded of.
I was going to do a post about how the dicks mailbombing us managed to annihilate most of my email from 2003 and 2004 today. And about the headaches adding more servers to our hosting to handle all the new visitors and more active return visitors on our sites. And the crazy guy who keeps yelling in the street outside where I live. And how I threw my neck out again twisting around in a nightmare while trying to stay asleep during his screaming.
But really, all that was just washed away. I love that, although the new BlueBlood.net has been bringing up a lot of old wounds, it is also bringing to the front of my mind all the reasons that I got into doing what I do. How I loved the pageantry and the individuality and the passion and the intensity. I’ve been thinking that I am disenchanted because overly dramatic pixels on the internet claim the same names as subcultures I have passed through, but really I just need to create a place online for the people who care about the things I care about. The rest really doesn’t matter much.
I will not abandon my community because of a few interlopers who want to call themselves by the same names as things much greater than they are. I took the path less travelled on purpose. I fought to have a life less ordinary.
Thematic Jammies
Did this post as a themed post for a community, but thought I would post it here too because it is so darned cute. Here are some photos of the Blue Blood crew in sleepwear in Vegas:
I sleep in big T-shirts.
Blue Blood’s Scar and Voltaire Blue sleep without jammies.
An article I wrote about that particular Vegas trip (with more pictures and picture links) is at http://www.blueblood.net/bb_57.html.
You can see a beautiful professional shot I did of Scar and Voltaire Blue on that same trip here and another one of Scar here (WARNING: NSFW). Just so you know how good I can make them look when I am not jumping on the bed and once they have been awake for a while.
Fetish Gossip Revisited
I would prefer it if morons would stop bringing my name up on fetishgossip.com. It is not my site. I have never even heard of most of subjects of the recent entries to it.
I would prefer it if morons would stop posting pretending to be me on fetishgossip.com.
I would prefer it if more people spent their time actually doing something. Actually creating something. Instead of trying to tear other people down. I am not particularly indicting fetishgossip.com with this statement, as I think that site is a symptom of the bitchy society a few over-the-hill models have been working to create. What goes around comes around. But, as I have not sent any around, I would prefer not to receive any. Karma and all that. It would really only be fair to leave me the fuck out of it.
And while I am setting the record straight . . . there are probably some fetish scene people who know a certain ungrateful bitch who I helped a lot, early in her time as a model. They have probably heard her complain that there were some times when I didn’t give her what she wanted in terms of usage of photos which I had spent money on and she had not.
Well, the first big bone of contention was an article for Secret. She wanted to be in Secret and wanted some of the photos Forrest and I had taken of her to appear in it. Forrest and I put up a page of small scans for Secret to choose images. Secret told me to go ahead and send ALL of the prints. This would have entailed sending them hundreds of dollars worth of prints which they would not return to me later. They were not even going to give me any promo or a copy of the magazine. I had always gotten that model copies of magazines I got her photo into, even when I had to buy twenty dollar magazines to do so. Oh, and I would be expected to allow web rights to all photos sent. And now a bunch of people are peeved that Secret is using their photos online. I didn’t want to be upset with Secret, so I skipped what sounded like a deal I would not be happy with. And I’ve had to deal with a mountain of absurd slander and libel ever since. Only now various models and photographers are coming to the same conclusions about Secret’s business practices that Forrest and I came to like four or five years ago? I think I am owed a few apologies from people who didn’t understand my position before they were in it.
Oooooooooooooooooh, now you all have the dirt. Do you feel enriched?
I spend my time working around the clock to create. That is why I have more credits than most of the people reading this (not counting you, Forrest.) I would like to be let be, so that I can continue to be creative. Leave me the fuck out of your petty social squabbles. I am creating for posterity, not for lame social status at your next mixer.
Workin’ Workin’
Been working on picture formatting all day. Just posted a series of Scar and series of a new girl Forrest and I just shot to Blue Blood’s GothicSluts.com.

Been enjoying shooting some new faces, but I’m really looking forward to seeing Szandora soon. Will be able to do a bunch more shooting once we finish some of the projects currently in the hopper and I can’t wait. Right now, I am bleeding like a stuck pig. Usually, Szandora and I coordinate our blood waterfalls. Guess I’ll just have to do it twice this month. Wouldn’t be the first time with her. Szandora claims it is me, but I think it is her hormones ruling me. One would expect me to be a total alpha female, but, in this respect, my body fails me.
