Have you ever considered living in two places at once? Ever done it?

I know I was not particularly well-rested in this photo. I know from the nightclub stamps on my hand here and the fact that my suite, oddly enough, did not have blackout drapes. But I just seem so much more relaxeed than what I see in the mirror today. I just came back from a cool trip to San Francisco. I just made a magazine deadline. I got my period early from being around so many other women’s pheromones, but it is done now. My sleep schedule is sort of off-kilter, but I have nothing I must do until noon tomorrow. Only I’m pretty much vibrating with stress. I just emailed the hotel I was staying at when this photo was taken and asked them if they have any condominiums available for sale.

Have you ever considered living in two places at once? Ever done it? Did it work out well or do you think it would?

How do you avoid feeling awful in the morning?

How do you avoid feeling awful in the morning?

by Amelia G : May 9th, 2008

How do you hack a hangover? Apparently this is one of the most viewed recent YouTube videos in the how-to section. Well, if you don’t count all the ones related to achieving erection, orgasm, or conception. I haven’t watched any of their social relations vids, but, if the advice is as terrible as this hangover advice . . .

Death Guild Monday with Blue Blood

Death Guild Monday with Blue Blood

by Amelia G : May 3rd, 2008

Death Guild

The first time I ever went to Death Guild was when Forrest Black and I were out in San Francisco for Bat of House of Usher’s Zine Slam. We were there promoting Blue Blood in print and also my antisocial punk rock humor zine BLT or Black Leather Times.

This was like more than a decade ago, so when Vampira Bat and Nixon Sixx suggested dropping promoter Decay a line, I was thinking he might not remember me. Pretty much the first thing he ever said to me in person was to give me grief for not publishing an article he wrote and submitted to my zine BLT. His article was fine and contained some punk education; it just didn’t fit the BLT format. So the first thing he emails back to me yesterday is his cell number and the pledge “I promise not to give you shit about the story I submitted to you guys in 1990.” So we are two veterans who do indeed remember each other.

As most Blue Blood readers probably know, we are celebrating our fifteen year anniversary this year. Death Guild is also celebrating their fifteen year anniversary. The moral of the story here is that having perserverence and longevity means that somebody somewhere will always remember it if there was that one night you drank too much, that one person you said that thing to, the time you gave someone a mohawk you were not supposed to, that guy you threatened with a shotgun, or potentially the weird factoid about that person they always confuse you with. If you stick to your guns and succeed, every little thing ever will probably haunt you. Just thought y’all

Is it hot in here?

Is it hot in here?

by Amelia G : May 2nd, 2008

So right now FUSE is playing a block of Nelly videos. I find Nelly ridiculously hot. Hot like sexy, not hot like kindling. I’m not even sure if I like his music, but I certainly enjoy his videos. They’ve got productions values! (Bonus cool points to anyone who gets the movie reference there.

So I was sitting there, letting the purple hair dye set in my hair, watching the Hot In Here video, and I suddenly realized that at least part of the video was shot inside a particular nightclub on Hollywood Blvd. Specifically, it was shot inside . . .

Hilarious Irony of the Day

I just had a total stranger send me an email (actually like a dozen emails) where they were freaking out and they actually typed “I AM NOT FLYING OFF OF ANY HANDLES” in all caps. Now that is some hilarious irony in action.

East Coast Gallery

I usually post photographs Forrest Black and I took of other people, but here is a shot of me and Forrest Black back in our old East Coast stomping grounds this past month. I believe it was shot by Kevin from the cover of Blue Blood #5 in print. Whole free gallery on BlueBlood.net after the jump. Friends of mine in the gallery should feel free to use the re-post code beneath the pictures of you in your own journals, communities, bulletins, and profiles.

Blue Blood Covergirl Cherry Returns with Ledgrey! (PICS)

Long-time Blue Blood fans will recognize the beautiful Cherry from the cover of Blue Blood #7. She is still good friends with Rich, who she did that shoot with, but they parted ways romantically. She is now married to the very gorgeous and startling tall Ledgrey. On a recent trip back to our old DC/Baltimore stomping grounds where Blue Blood started back in 1992, Forrest Black and I had the opportunity to hang out with Cherry and Ledgrey and to photograph them. This series of portraits is sort of a teaser for hot stuff to come and you’ll spot some clubbing shots on BlueBlood.net as well. Whole series for members of BlueBlood.com

Blue Blood on Playboy’s Night Calls Again

Blue Blood on Playboy’s Night Calls Again

by Amelia G : April 24th, 2008

Playboy Christy Canyon Vanessa BlueForrest Black and I are going to be on Night Calls for our third or fourth appearance Friday, April 25, 2008. The show runs from 4pm to 7pm and is broadcast live, so you can phone in and ask impertinent (sexy) questions if you dial toll free 1-877-205-9796.

Our hosts for the day are going to be Christy Canyon and Vanessa Blue. This will be my first time meeting Vanessa Blue, but last time adult legend Christy Canyon gave me some interesting insights. Among other things, we were chatting about what it was like being . . . unusual in the Washington, DC area. At the time Blue Blood was founded, a person (okay, one of my unsavory pals generally) could be thrown out of Springfield Mall for having a nose ring. Christy Canyon told me that it was much more progressive in Los Angeles and somewhat surprising to Angelenos that being able to express yourself even by wearing a painted leather jacket is definitely not always easy elsewhere. And that went double in the early 90’s.

Forrest Black and I are in the second guest time slot and will be going on around 5pm. Forrest Black and I will be chatting with Christy Canyon and Vanessa Blue about BlueBlood.com in general, about our photography in specific, and, if experience is something to go on, we will definitely be talking about sex. Our friend Darklady from Portland will, through an odd bit of synchronicity, be on in the 4pm slot, and it is a good show, so I recommend tuning in from the start. Darklady will be

Fetish Magazine Model Call – Tears and Content

I don’t usually do this here, but . . . I’m looking to shoot this week for European fetish magazine placement. I could finish the job with work I have on hand, but I’d kind of like to shoot some folks I have not shot for fetish magazines before. I would ideally like to shoot in Los Angeles, but San Francisco would be possible with enough good models and locations.

The magazine generally gets the images first, but you should expect to ultimately most likely get tears and promo for your personal projects and web-ready content. You will receive a copy of the magazine when Forrest Black and I get copies in and you will receive content for download within two weeks of each set being published on BlueBlood.com/RubberDollies.com/etc.

Requirements:

You must be able to do an extravagant and impressive look.
You must have access to high end and unique rubber clothing. Corsets and big boots are also a plus, but latex is required.
A minimum of topless nudity is required. Comfort with full nudity is preferred.
You must be in Los Angeles or San Francisco this coming week.
We are looking to create the most artistic and striking images possible, so we are looking for a select few models who can really bring something extraordinary to the table.

Refer to Forrest Black’s and my work for an idea of what sorts of people we prefer to shoot in general. We have shot for all the important European fetish magazines, including Marquis, Skin Two, and Secret. Although Forrest Black and I have shot dozens of magazine covers, these specific tears are intended for inside pages, although the future can always bring more good things.

A few things to keep in mind: It is highly likely that you and/or the clothing designer will get significant press coverage from this. I can only use local models for this specific gig and that means either both Los Angeles and San Francisco or exclusively Los Angeles if I can fill all the spots in LA. If you are not sure what high end fetish fashion or rubber clothing is all about or if you are unsure of your nudity comfort levels, I’m really only looking for glamourous enthusiasts on this one.

To submit, please message me here or email submit@blueblood.net with the title FETISH MAGAZINE MODEL. Please indicate where pictures of you can be viewed, what city you are near, what your nudity comfort zone and interests are, what type of fetish fashion you have available, and whether the designer would like some press coverage as well if possible. If you have any special reasons for wanting to shoot or other information you feel is relevant, please feel free to include it.

HIGH END FETISH CLOTHING DESIGNERS, PLEASE ALSO FEEL FREE TO GET IN TOUCH.

EVERYONE PLEASE FEEL FREE TO REPOST THIS MODEL CALL TO APPROPRIATE PLACES.

Love, Amelia G

Do you worry about people imitating you?

Here is a really innocuous example: When I was like eighteen, I had some button down shirts from when I was around thirteen. I hadn’t grown that much, but I’d started working out seriously and the shoulders did not fit. So I cut off the sleeves and wore the middle part of the shirt with the cuffs. It made a cute slutty outfit. A couple of my friends liked the idea and did the same thing. I thought that was cool until someone I was dating saw me dressed up and was like, “oh, you are wearing your shirt like so-and-so.” It had not occurred to me that having my friends like my idea would mean I would not get credit for it. Not like getting credit for deconstructing a particular style of outfit I no longer wear is super important, but it really bugged me and I didn’t know how to respond. Besides dumping my date that is.

Sometimes I get stressed out about saying what I think either online or in person because it really gets on my nerves when people repeat something I said like they just thought of it. The sort of people who do this often do not even know they are doing it and will even say it back to me like I might be interested to know this thing . . . that I said in the first place.

Of course, people who snarf other people’s words or behaviors for commercial purposes are even worse, but at least they are doing it on purpose and probably know they are doing it.

Does this happen to you and how do you or would you deal with it?

I’m a Cop Killer

Dreamed I was being held in prison on suspicion of being a cop killer. Someone had killed a policeman who did not identify himself as such. This woman who was trying to help me was saying that the guy not identifying himself as an officer of the law should keep me off Death Row. Only I didn’t do it. And I was so pissed off and sad that I’d never killed anybody if I was going to get in trouble for it anyway. Still feel awful. Dream analysis anyone?

Pic of Me

A pic of yours truly for variety. Shot by Forrest Black. I wish I got pictures taken of me more often. I used to have people wanting to take my pic all the time . . . until I picked up a camera myself. I do not know if other photographers are intimidated by the idea of shooting me, as some folks have suggested, ’cause that seems freaky and uncomfortable to me, even if it is true. Anyway, it was really nice of Forrest to shoot this one. 🙂

Socket is Out on DVD

Socket is Out on DVD

by Amelia G : April 7th, 2008

Sean Abley Amelia G Socket DVD Release PartyI’ve written about writer/director/producer Sean Abley’s Socket movie here before, when it first hit the festival circuit. Now the movie is out on DVD and available from TLA Video. TLA Releasing put out Socket and the TLA media empire is descended from the Theatre of the Living Arts experimental theatre group in 60’s Philadelphia.

A couple of days ago, Sean Abley and a couple hundred of his closest friends got together at MJ’s Bar in Silverlake to celebrate the release of Socket on DVD. The event was hosted by promoter Jovy Janolo and producers John Carrozza, Doug Prinzivalli, Matt Mishkoff, and of course Sean himself. The VIP goodie bags included an interesting-looking DVD of a spooky movie called Amnesia, a coupon for a discount on TLA releases, and a pass for thirty free minutes of VOD which promise to “put the HARD back in hardcore DVD.” Blue Blood’s Forrest Black had the honor of receiving the final goodie bag of the night. The doorman apologized to me and told me he guessed I’d be re-gifting because the stuff in there was for, you know, jacking off. I was expecting the DVD and such to be more like what I would get at a regular business convention for web professionals, but TLA in general and Socket and Amnesia in specific appear to be for the purposes of movie movies and not jack off vids. Then again, I couldn’t get the VOD site to load, so maybe my tender sensibilities would have been scalded. Oh, and I’m a chick, so I guess I’m expected to care whether fictional characters romance and fuck exactly who I would personally want and be able to romance and fuck. . . .
