Apparently I won a #photocontest at the highly respected #janesguide back in 2001. Anyone recall what #image I won for?

I used to be crazy expert at #DIY #bulk #mail with the #USPS Almost every Friday, a friend or two and I would trundle over to bulk receiving at our otherwise kinda sleepy #suburban #maryland #postoffice Sometimes, like when famous writers ordered #subscriptions I would be naughty and slip in a very tiny light personal note, even if that was kind of against the rules.

I miss PageMaker with the nostalgia and grief for a dead lover I used to do everything with. (Or maybe the old paper dust in this storage box is pumping out the #pain #allergans hard.) Most of the issues of Blue Blood magazine in print were created in various versions of #pagemaker and also lots of other projects I’m so happy and grateful to have been able to be involved in. InDesign is not the same; it is counterintuitive and not built on the same #traditional #pasteup #layout model. I loved PageMaker.

When they first built the W in my #Hollywood neighborhood, I thought lots more #condos would mean all my friends and I would be able to own nice homes here. Their sales pitch package #marketing #collateral was really nicely designed. Even came with a handwritten note.

I received a personalized thank you from #NASA for my work on this. It was such a really great project to be a part of. As my friend Kathleen pointed out, however, some of my memorabilia looks like it is coming out of a WWII bunker, so I’m going with the #professional #archivist opinion that this is maybe not so preserved.

Good thing this folder has instructions.

Wherein the brilliant Lloyd Kaufman of #Troma makes the case that using #indie experience on a resume for corporate #film work pays way more and is much easier than going more fully #independent but only some people get that option. I am not one of the people who was given that option. Book kind of depressed me but was a good read.

Colin Rowntree from Wasteland suggested I put pop ups on Blue Blood’ s membership sites. I was dubious but thought it might be okay if I only included sites I felt decent recommending. Of course, we wanted Barely Legal in the Barely Evil popup. #homage #satire Apparently Colin was right and people did buy from popups.
