Blue Blood is, like, popular and stuff

Whoo-hoo!

Even though we haven’t had it for long, the Blue Blood MySpace profile just passed 50,000 friends. I can feel the love!

I figured I’d post my own cleavage for a change. This is from last year’s Comic Con and X-Sanguin ball galleries. This and rest of shots are available at full size in Blue Blood free galleries.

I just posted this in a community and thought I’d post the blow-up-my-friends-page sized one in my own journal.

And a happy (only slightly belated) birthday to the gent in the photo with me!

I have cramps, but Forrest rules because, even though he is super-busy, he just brought me coffee to soothe them.

I am going to Comic Con naked

So, I lost thirty pounds so far this year. (I gained a bunch of weight while laid up with a broken ankle a while back.) So now I have nothing to wear because I’m not quite back in my regular clothing yet, but I’m way too thin for anything new I got. Blargh.

Comic Con & X-Sanguin

Got a whole lot of Comic Con and X-Sanguin photos posted to BlueBlood.net now. Once again, this year, the Blue Blood crew will be at megaboth #433, sponsored by The Brotherhood. Come by and say hello!

Love, Amelia

Whole set appears on the newly officially launched BlueBlood.com. I’m really psyched about how this series turned out. What do you all think? More to come!

Unfriendly Biters

You know what I find really peculiar?

There are a few people out there who seem to base everything they do on what I do and what I say. I’ll photograph an obscure designer and they contact the designer to shoot their clothes. I’ll set up a location studio at a trannie club and, even though they’ve never shot trannies before, they will call up the promoter and beg to shoot there. I’ll express a concern about a feminist issue and all of a sudden they’ll give it lip service. I’ll come up with a concept for a shoot or a site or an article and they are all up in it, making pale imitations, when they are probably quite capable of doing something cool on their own, if they’d just be original for a moment. They will only date people I say are hot. They will move to whatever city I tell them is cool. They will try to work for or with anyone I’ve worked for or with, even those where I maybe didn’t make the best choice of a gig.

Obviously, it is not like there is one person who has done all these things, but the personality type is recurring in my life.

I would think that, if these types find me sooooooooooo inspiring that they’d base their freaking lives or careers or art on me, then at least they would sorta want to be nice to me. Yet, once these sorts of people get the slightest toe in the door, they start trying to push me out. It makes me feel bad to have people trying to push me out of areas I enjoy, just because my being there inspired them to want to be there. Plus, if they are just going to follow me to the next thing I do, I have to stand my ground and endure the irritation, as I know the biters will only follow, if I go elsewhere.

How am I supposed to respond to it when people do this sort of thing? I mean, I always wanted to be influential, but it hadn’t occurred to me that being influential would mean that I’d have to deal with people who were simultaneously on my jock and angry at me for being what they want to be or something. If that is even it. I don’t even get what they are angry about.

Can anyone explain this irritating behavior to me?

I guess I should probably post something official here about how BlueBlood.com officially launched July 4, Independence Day, but, hey, here is a photo I’m really pysched about, which Forrest Black and I shot, and which posted this weekend:

Have I mentioned that I have a total mobster fetish and really really like pinstripes?

Bella IN SOCKS!

Okay, really they are Bella Vendetta‘s awesome leg warmers, but writing that in the title made me think of a Dilbert cartoon about socks. Bonus weird cultural allusion otaku points for anyone who gets the, uhm, literary reference.

Young Death

So I recently visited some of my old stomping grounds. It is natural in such circumstances to talk about “whatever happened to so and so” sorts of things. I had a conversation about someone I dated approximately a billion years ago, not seriously in any way, but someone I felt a general fondness for.

I expressed surprise at what he had ended up doing and said what I would have expected him to end up doing. I could tell the person I said it to thought I was being catty, so I told him that he was free to repeat it with my warm regards because I knew the individual I spoke of would expect me to think that and be amused by it. Don’t know whether he got the message yet, but, if he didn’t, he won’t.

He apparently died this week. Like as in dead. I suppose that, when I am 80, I will be used to people I know being dead. The online mentions of how he died are oblique, but it looks like it was perhaps a death by misadventure, which is maybe fitting if very very sad. I guess sometimes a person needs to remember to say what they want to say right away, to keep in touch, to . . . I don’t know.

I just feel sad, somehow more sad than I think I should for someone I haven’t seen in a long time.

July 4, Independence Day in the U.S. was also the official launch date for the BlueBlood.com megasite. Some of you have been privy to what we’ve been working on with the Blue Blood megasite, so you won’t see giant changes today, but you will see us stepping things up yet another notch. The goal of BlueBlood.com is partly just to give all the members the best value possible, as all members now get all the benefits of membership to BarelyEvil.com, GothicSluts.com, and RubberDollies.com plus more, all for the price of one site. For me and Forrest Black, the most important aspect of the BlueBlood.com mission is to creatively get back in touch with Blue Blood’s roots as much as possible. So we celebrated the 4th by posting both a photoset featuring DC girl Cindy B. and her then girlfriend Krista which was shot for Blue Blood #2 in print thirteen years ago, so it is quite a piece of history. We also posted a set Forrest and I shot of Cindy B. last month in our nation’s capitol at a four star hotel. One of the most important messages of Blue Blood has always been that growing up does not have to mean giving up and that you can enjoy the rewards of the larger society without giving up who you are. Kudos to Cindy and, damn, but I think I’m going to really enjoy what we have coming up. Hopefully, everyone else will enjoy it too.

Blue Blood MySpace Profile Attacked as BlueBlood.com Launches

I just posted this on MySpace, but I felt the need to express my annoyance here as well:

Wow. So, as most of Blue Blood’s MySpace friends know July 4, Independence Day, marks the official launch of the BlueBlood.com megasite. I’ll send out a detailed announcement about that later.

Right now, I’d like to mention that I’m really annoyed that the entire design of the Blue Blood MySpace profile with all the About Us info and the pictures and contact info and everything was removed. There was no nudity or anything objectionable on the page, so I’m sorta stumped as to what was problematic. Does anyone know how one asks MySpace about what is okay? I don’t want to break any rules, but I’m sorta stumped. I figure one of the nearly 50,000 of you must know the answer to this question.

Of course, whatever was an issue, it is pretty obvious that someone whined about the Blue Blood MySpace profile to MySpace. And, whoever made the complaint chose to whine on a specific day when it was known that Blue Blood was going to have launch news. Probably not a coincidence.

I don’t know who messed with the Blue Blood profile, but here is a link to where AltPorn.net mentioned the then-upcoming July 4th launch for BlueBlood.com:

http://altporn.net/2006/06/05/blueblood-responds-to-rumors-regarding-suicidegirls-content-sale (NSFW obviously)

So, it would be helpful if anyone knows how I can ask MySpace what is okay to put in the Blue Blood profile design. Thanks.

Love, Amelia

Gimme an Iced Latte

Wow, some days do not go as planned. Stayed up all night last night working on a deadline. Planned to go be sociable over coffee today and then finish everything up. Maybe get a little sunshine. Instead slept until late afternoon. Ate breakfast and watched a wretched episode of The Simpsons on TiVo. Lay back down for just a few minutes. Woke up now. Might be time to do a coffee detox now anyway, now that I have a half day head start.

Note to self: Doing a convention immediately after doing another time zone is wearing.

Is today Say Disturbingly Ignorant Things to Amelia Day and I didn’t get the kind of calendar which lists this particular special occasion?

Blue Blood Had a Blast Exhibiting at Erotica LA 2006 (PICS)

Nice seeing so many of my digital pals at the show! As you guys know, we were there promoting the imminent July 4, Independence Day, official full launch of BlueBlood.com and it was super fun.

I now have clean laundry, but I may not be able to wear it too many places. Allow me to explain.

This past weekend was Blue Blood’s and my first year exhibiting at Erotica LA. Back when Forrest Black and I were doing a lot of writing and photography for AVN’s various print publications, we sort of meant to go to their Erotica LA show, but we never quite got around to it. I always had the impression that it was probably more Porno with a capital P than I’d really be into.

I decided to try out getting a booth this year because . . .

Head on over to BlueBlood.net to read about the Blue Blood crew’s adventures and for tons of photos of hotties at the convention!

Love, Amelia

PS If there is a photo of you in one of the three galleries, please feel free to repost it, unedited with credit of course 🙂
