I am really thrilled to be able to announce that the first set of Razor Candi has just gone live in the Blue Blood VIP. Yay!
Although Blue Blood receives hundreds of submissions a week and has for many years, I don’t get this excited very often. Heck, I guess we don’t even get to say “yes” all that often, from a percentage viewpoint. I consider what someone looks like in terms of raw materials, but I look at least equally at personal style and attitude and diversity of interests. Although Razor Candi is knockout gorgeous in her photos, I think it is extra-cool that she does her own makeup and styling for her shoots, and, in addition to having her picture taken, she paints and travels and has adventures.
I believe Razor Candi was actually a contributing photographer for one of Blue Blood’s sister sites like six years ago. Pictures I think she shot of Eden Prosper ran on SpookyLinks when it was doing a Spooky Hottie of the Week.
At any rate, Razor Candi has appeared in approximately a zillion publications, including tons of magazine covers. She has a sexy attitude and incredible style, with an artistic eye, and can rock a bunch of different cool looks, although her deathrock one is probably my favorite. I’m honored and pleased that, when she decided to grace the world with beautiful nudes, Blue Blood was her first choice of venue. (Plus this confirms my sense of a just universe where all is right in the world.) Expect to see a lot more Razor Candi in the coming months.</p>
Fabulous designer Billy from Antiseptic Fashion always knows the hotties and he knows our tastes. So he introduced me and Forrest Black to the lovely Miss Crash. We had a deadline for our regular column for Marquis and Crash was just driving through Los Angeles on her way from Las Vegas to I think San Diego. (She travels a lot.) We got together for a late night shoot and everything just came together really great. The Marquis magazine article has run, although I wish I had some copies. At any rate, so now we are fixing to post whole series of each exotic erotic couture set-up we shot. Here is a sample image from one of them. Whole sets in the Blue Blood VIP as always.
One of the most wonderful things about shooting April Flores is that she has a very artistic and experimental mindset. So when I told her I wanted to try out photographing her naked, lit only by the fluorescent paint on a hallway we had wandered through, April gamely stripped down immediately and was good to go. Seeing the cantina scene in Star Wars was a watershed moment for me. I looked at the motley crew of freaks and degenerates and weirdos and heroes having fun and looking to be productive and I wanted to go to there. I love really over-the-top clothing and I’ve been really enjoying all the great costuming this site lends itself to. People always ask me if I personally own more leather or more latex, but the answer is I own more metal; I love armor.
Blue Blood VIP members have had access to a lot of hot costume content and fiction by top genre writers for years, but, with the launch of EroticFandom.com, there is a place to really highlight this aspect of Blue Blood. The first conventions Blue Blood exhibited at were all SF&F ones. I’m not 100% sure whether my first published fiction work was science fiction or nightclub lit, so I suppose I’ll have to organize my filing cabinets if I want to know the answer to that, but I digress.

This image I shot of the beautiful, responsible yet fun-loving Kellie LaPlegua is the first in a two-parter on her and Louis Fleischauer for Marquis. You all may recall that I posted an, err, dog-fucking photo from the latter half of this shoot a while ago. Given that Marquis was fine with me posting some of the stuff of Crash from last ish, I’m assuming it is cool to share these with the world now. Hopefully this is the case. This will be like the 31st issue I think of Marquis which features Forrest Black’s and my Big in America column. Whole series in Blue Blood VIP and on the new Erotic Fandom (which I should really make a post about here too.)
Blue Blood magazine covergirl Cherry Jason is a favorite with me and Forrest Black and we all enjoyed this shoot in her home. We’ve known Cherry for a long time and she is always fun and gorgeous and cool. I should really bust out the film scanner and look for the negatives from our earliest film shoots with her because she is just amazing. Full series in Blue Blood VIP.
Lots of upgrades to the forums this week. The coolest new feature, in my opinion, is probably how threads now show you Similar Threads. Everything also loads even faster now. This shoot in the piercing shop bathroom, by yours truly and Forrest Black, is Eva Klench’s lucky 13th appearance in the Blue Blood VIP. I’d love for her to see the finished work and she is a cool chick. I surely understand how Los Angeles can wear a decent talented person like her down though.
Sassy Ondine makes an excellent retro devil girl in this shoot Forrest Black and I did of her in San Francisco. I got to soak in that bathtub too and it was awesome.
I tend to shy away from posting naughtier work, usually, but I’m really proud of this image. I see a certain irony in picking up the camera as a sexuality activist and then having people theoretically within my own scene make me feel funny about being loud and proud. But that is a whole nother post. Without further ado . . .
